Getting Error [message #439517]

Hi all is there any restriction on edit button?

When i click on edit button i got the following error Message .

You can no more edit a message if someone has replied to it.

If someone has replied to it there is no such edit button.
Edit button enables to the last non replied messages only(only for the poster not the others) right?

I *think* that there are two restrictions (both already mentioned); you can edit your own message:
- if nobody has replied to it
- within a certain amount of time (can't tell how long it is, exactly)

It's not like your browser updates things in real time. When you brought up the page the editing button was available, by the time you got around to pressing it it wasn't.
