Hello every body,
I am a student in the university , I want to start working with Oracle but I don't know any information about it.
- First what is the appropriate version to start with it ?
- And I want to bind oracle databases with visual studio 2008 in windows 7 ultimate , is that possible ?
- Is it possible to use LINQ technology with Oracle DBMS ?

Thanks.

1/ The last one available for your platform
2/ Yes
3/ Don't know LINQ

All Oracle documentation at http://tahiti.oracle.com or http://www.oracle.com/technology/ (where you will also found the Oracle softwares to download).

Regards
Michel

Depending on your hardware specs & what you want to learn, you might start with the XE version of Oracle. Installation is easier and footprint is smaller.
Since its version is 10g, you will not have any 11g specific features available, but if you are just starting to learn, you won't need them anyway.

Read the description directly underneath it. It explains when you need which.
Do you plan to just use a remote database (i.e. a database that is installed on a separate machine then the one you are working on)? Guess not, so you'd need either the WesternEuropean or the Universal edition. (which contains the actual database software)
