Hi everyone.
Trying to start the listeners (I have Oracle 7.1 release on HP-UX 10.20) the message displayed is:

LSNRCTL> start
Starting /opt/oracle/bin/tnslsnr: please wait...

TNSLSNR for HPUX: Version 2.1.6.1.0 -
Production
System parameter files /etc/listener.ora
Log messages written to /opt/oracle/network/log/listener.log
TNS-01151: Missing listener name, LISTENER, in LISTENER.ORA

Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

Check the entry in listener.ora file for the global_dbname parameter and sid_name in the sid_list_listener section. Also make sure the entry is in sid for connect_data in the Connect_data section of the tnsnames.ora.
