How to recover package source code from previous backup which is hot backup, using OS cp command.

The source is stored at system tablespace or the user default tablespace?
Can we just restore those required tablespace in this case?

Pls advise. Thank you.

Theorically, code should be in your versioning repository...

Now, you have to create a new database from your backup and get the procedure source from it, using dbms_metadata for instance.

That's the point I would like to confirm..
do we need to restore those tablespace contain user data when recreate new db for restoring? or only the system tablespace?

You only need mandatory tablespaces: SYSTEM and UNDO tablespace if you use automatic undo management or tablespace containing the rollback segments otherwise.
