Hey,

I want to install java version 1.5.0_11 in a solaris server (5.8 version i.e. version 8 ). I would like to know which one to use.
Is it jdk-1_5_0_11-solaris-sparc.sh or jdk-1_5_0_11-solaris-sparcv9.sh?

Here is the server information.
SunOS xxxxnam 5.8 Generic_117350-27 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880

When I do the isainfo -v, it displays the following
64-bit sparcv9 applications
32-bit sparc applications

When I do isainfo -kv, it displays
64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules

Thanks for your help

This sub-forum is for "Oracle Installation, Configuration, Troubleshooting and Scripting on Unix platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, etc.) "

In case you were sleep walking when you arrived here, I'll remind you that this whole forum is dedicate to Oracle products!

I do believe that Sun has their own forum where you post this question.
