Hiding hostname, username and password in URL (10g) [message #318255]

Hi

I want to hide "hostname:portno and username/password@db" in url of forms service 10g.
Also want to hide all that when calling reports using "WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT" in 10g environment.

hi

I am using 10g forms and reports. I want to hide "hostname:portno username/password@db" in url and also want to hide that in calling reports using "WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT".

User OraFAQ Forum's Search facility and search for "hide password url"; you'll find the answer (I remember one posted couple of weeks ago).

GO TO CONFIGURATION FILE 'reports/conf/cgicmd.dat' . then create a variable like this
rep: userid=username/password@database %* then use this rep instead of username/pass@db in your url
