oracle7.3,8i,and9i databases.i want to know the major
difference between them.

surprising , that u say that u r DBA , and i dint expect this fgrom u.#
These questions are put by novice users.
there r a lot of differences.
for details refer to oracle documentation.
oracle7 to 8 are
object relational features
v tables, in dexes,improved backup utility.
blob,clob, Varray etc.
oracle 8 to 8i
basically to overcome the problem of oracle engine bug.
lots of dba tools added and deprecation of commands and older tools.
9i
support of ansi sql,
datawarehosing support
merge, uopsert etc.
