Hi All,

Can any one explain me the reason for not availability of ISQLPLUS & SQLPLUSW window from oracle 11g.

The evil GUIs were banned by Oracle, due to duplicative/redundant support costs.

just use sqlplus & instant client, if needed.

Hi,

I believe there are additional reasons.

isqlplus was discovered to be insecure in many environments and dropped as a security threat. Especially as the user base for this tool was low.

sqlplusw was dropped because Oracle has invested heavily in sqldevelper which is in many ways a superior product, though many users of sqlplusw, including myself, were disappointed to loose this tool.
