I'm looking at alternatives to providing users with the ability to upload files via http. I want to files to be stored in the db as blobs. A search for webutil here produced many results, but none that seem to fit. And it looks like that would beed to be installed anyway (we do have webutil_db though (?))

It looks like I could do as it describes here httpstanford.edu/dept/itss/docs/oracle/10g/appdev.101/b10795/adfns_we.htm#1013765 and create a DAD (same here httpwww.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/FileUploadDownloadProcedures10g.php) but is there a way to do this without the DAD, and without webutil?

Have you looked at using webutil_file_transfer.Client_To_DB ?
