Can anyone provide instructions on how to install (I have extracted the software) the Bonnie++ disk benchmark software.

Please, note that this is Oracle forum. Problems which are not related to Oracle should not be discussed here. I understand that tuning on operating system level might result in better performance of your Oracle database. However, if you are interested in Unix side of computing, please, find a more appropriate discussion board.
