Hello All,

I had created a new oracle 10gR2 database on linux RHEL4 and edited the /etc/oratab as follows

mydb:/u01/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1:Y

but its not starting at the bootup. I also need to know how to start the listener at bootup.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Is "dbstart" in your boot sequence?
Same thing for a command starting the listener.

Hi Michel,

dbstart is not in my boot sequence. Please help me to know, how can i add dbstart to the boot sequence (iam new to linux). I think the dbstart script contains the code to start the listener, isn't.

Thanks,
Arun

Sorry, I don't use Linux and so don't know where is and how to set the boot sequence but I'm pretty sure you will get the answer in this Linux subforum as this has been asked many times.

Regards
Michel
