Hello,

We have one Oracle Server (running Windows 2012 R2) and
we are planing to create a cold standby server.
The server should be prepared in case we have an OS or hardware issue.

Would would be the correct way to prepare the new server?

My idea was:
- Install OS, name the server the same hostname (no network connection)
- Install Oracle Software

My question is, how would I register the databases on the new server?
Our Oracle DB is saved on a LUN in our SAN.
So in case I can map this LUN to the new server, but how would I get the
DB registered?
