Dear Forum Members,
Today my Team Leader ask's me wether it is possible to put a Water-Mark on Reports or not,I tried it Out with Putting a Big Label Behaind all Frame in Gray Color as"DUPLICATE", But the thing is that they actually want it to be Diagonal and it is not possible to rotate a Label in Report Diagonally So i Then Used a Image(Please Refer PDF Attached). But again problem...with Size without the Image it was 68 KB and after it goes 1,112KB Please Suggest me Some wise way to get rid of that Problem.

Create a formula column which would return CHARACTER value: 'DUPLICATE'. Use it in the Paper Layout so that it is NOT displayed as a field, but using the ampersand (&) sign (for example, &cf_1). This will allow you to rotate it - in the toolbar, click the Rotate button, click and drag a handle. Adjust size, color, whatever, and that's all.

Hi LF,

Really that is great I did that and output is generated as required . but I did not use the function I added just TEXT item in the report.

So i think that is another way to do ?

Obviously it is; depending on requirement, watermark text could be passed as a user parameter to the report. Or, it could be "calculated" using a formula (if some_condition then watermark = 'THIS TEXT' else watermark = 'ANOTHER TEXT'), or ...

My example was only one solution of the problem. As usually, there's more than one way to do it.

Hi LF,
I can't understand this
<Use it in the Paper Layout so that it is NOT displayed as a field, but using the ampersand (&) sign (for example, &cf_1).>

what I am doing is first define a formula column with &Name of columns but report didn't allow me to do so it says, it does not fullfil the Sql naming standard. will u plz, explain me in detail what wrong I am doing.
Many Thanks

Ampersand is NOT to be used while defining a formula column, but in Paper Layout (editor which is used to "draw" columns on the screen). See the attached sample report.

And if you'r not getting how to Create Water Mark. Create in Microsoft Office. How? Here How I use to Create...
The watermark commands are available only in normal, print layout, and outline views.
1. On the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Printed Watermark.
2. Do one of the following:
o To insert a picture as a watermark (watermark: Any graphic or text, such as "Confidential," that when printed appears either on top of or behind existing document text.), click Picture Watermark, and then click Select Picture. Select the picture you want, and then click Insert.
o To insert a text watermark, click Text Watermark, and then select or enter the text that you want.
3. Select any additional options that you want, and then click Apply.

After That take take a Print Screen Paste in MS Paint Crop with the Size and Save your Happy Water Mark.

I'm sorry, but I don't have Reports 11g so I can't try it myself. Perhaps someone else will be able to assist.

What does it mean, "the positioning and the font are the problem"? You should describe that problem.

hi

apologies for unclear information. the attached document explains how the report should look like. I am struggling to print that in a report. I made the text to be bold so that you can be able to see it.

thanks

There's no attachment; don't use "Quick Reply". Instead, click the "Reply" button in the upper right corner of a message. In there, you'll see an option to upload a document.

Don't worry; it won't be visible, but we'll be able to download it. Or, alternatively, upload a screenshot - it will be a JPG (or some similar format) which will be visible if you insert it into message body.
