In the ER diagram if we have a table thats a linking table used for a many to many relationship between 2 tables.. it is shown as a kite in the ER diagram...

So what if linking table has more fields apart from the PK of the two tables its meant to link? Can it still be shown as a relation (kite) or does it have to shown as a element then?

what does the double line mean between the linking table and one table...

Hola:

Muchas Gracias

Yes, even if the linking table has more fields apart from the PK's of the two tables, it can still be shown as a relation (kite).
The double line means that the table (whihc is connected via a double line to the linking table) is dependent on the linking table. In other words its a weak entity.
