Hi,
We are discussing on moving our databases from Unix(Solaris) to SUSE Linux (and not RedHat because of cost), is there any disadvantage of running Oracle on SUSE?
Thanks

Better check out the availability of the ASM libraries.

ASMLIB is not required to run ASM, but it helps a bit with administration. ASMLIB is available for Suse 10 and 11, but I don't believe Oracle will release anything on newer releases of SuSE. Oracle has stated that they will release ASMLIB only for their own Linux distro going forward.
