Hi,

I've Windows 7 OS in my system.

I installed VMware® Workstation (7.0.0 build-203739) and in VMware I installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4. Now in Linux I installed Oracle 10g release 2.

I'm able to boot Linux OS and can also start Oracle DB. It is working fine. Now I want access the same DB from outside VM Ware i.e. from windows os. I want to use TOAD. But I'm not able to ping TNS and not able to establish a connection.

Please help.

Thanks & Regards
Manoj

OS/Networking mis-configuration; which has NOTHING to do with Oracle.
Oracle is victim; not culprit.
You need to be able successfully issue 8 different ping commands; 4 from Windows & 4 from Linux.

ping <own_hostname>
ping <own_IP#>
ping <other_hostname>
ping <other_IP#>

now do the same from the other system.
After all 8 of these succeed & you still have SQL*Net issues, post followup status report.
