Sir,

Our contractor requested last Friday (May 4, 2012) a database restoration
because of a faulty configurations on their Application server.
After restoration from an April 30, 2012 backup, we can't startup the
database for now, re:

[xserver]:abcxyz>/export/home/oracle>> sqlplus / as sysdba
SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.1.0 Production on Mon May 7 08:19:09 2012

Connected to an idle instance.

SQL> startup
ORA-27102: out of memory
SVR4 Error: 22: Invalid argument
SQL> exit
Disconnected

What causes this?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for this.
We'll have to sit-down with our Systems Administrator then.
